Your eyelids gently rise, introducing your irises to a wave of light akin to that of a summer morning. You lie flat on the floor, hands resting on your stomach, as though you were placed into this rest without any expectation of awakening from it. Your head and neck are supported by a fluffy pillow, its colour beautifully matched to whatever your own tastes may be, and despite the strangeness of the whole situation, it’s difficult to find the motivation to move even an inch from this solitary Eden.
There is no pain here. However much you may have been used to before has already faded long away from your mind’s eye. It’s as if the world no longer held any importance, and Atlas had placed it—gently—down onto the ground. Now he lay side by side with that impossible burden he once bore, having finally been given the opportunity to marvel at its beauty.
Are you Atlas, free of torment?
Or are you the world he held high, now adrift and still?
Your eyes wander from the ceiling adorned with carved art to the area immediately surrounding your resting body. On all sides you’re surrounded with bookshelves, each packed neatly, yet nevertheless stuffed with as many books as each individual shelf can possibly hold.
There is nowhere else to go. And so you remain as you are, drifting back into the heavenly veil of unconsciousness.
No urgency weighs on your sleeping mind. Much like Atlas, it’s as if any weight this world once possessed has been lifted squarely from your shoulders…
Welcome to Animoria. For those of you that played Taka and Nuto’s Angels of Death, Animoria aims to be a familiar yet fresh take on the system.
For those of you brand new to this style of game, however, don’t worry—everything will be explained. If you have any questions whatsoever regarding the gameplay, please do not be afraid to ask.
Essentially, the crux of the game involves “Murder Rooms.” These are pre-set scenarios where a murder has occurred. The players act as detectives, solving the unique mysteries presented by each room with the hopes that they will live long enough to see the next.
